From Georgia clay
to global harvest.

If it rolls, tills, hauls, or grows crops — we'll take it. Cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, tractors, trailers, farm implements, land. Whatever U.S. donors set aside, we put back to work: refurbished for a smallholder farm in Kenya, sold to fund a scholarship in Loganville, leased to a co-op in Guatemala.

Every donor receives an autographed photo from Don Hansen · NFL 1966–1977

§ 01 — Why we exist

A working farm is a form of freedom. We help build them, one donation at a time.

"Cannot I do with you as this potter? Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand."

— Jeremiah 18:6 · The verse the organization is named for

Every year, U.S. farms, families, and small businesses retire equipment that still has decades of work left in it — and land that could still feed a community.

The Potter's Farm exists to receive those assets, put them in the hands of people who need them, and turn the surplus into scholarships, housing support, and vocational training. Where a truck sits idle in a Georgia field, it can become a working vehicle for a co-op in Kenya. Where an unused parcel is a tax burden, it can become a training farm or a community garden.

We don't run relief campaigns. We run a supply chain — from your driveway to a field that needs it, or from a title transfer to a scholarship check. Every asset is tracked, every transformation is documented, every dollar of resale funds a program with a name attached.

§ 02 — What we do

Four programs, one supply chain.

01

Vehicle & Equipment Donation

Any vehicle — cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, boats, trailers — plus tractors and farm implements of every kind. Running or not. We handle pickup, title transfer, and IRS Form 1098-C documentation. Assets with life left in them are refurbished — often in partnership with vocational programs — and either shipped overseas or redeployed domestically. Everything else is sold to fund our programs.

  • All makes, all years, all conditions considered
  • Pickup coordinated within 5–10 business days
  • Vocational partners handle refurbishment training
  • Exports routed through Savannah and Brunswick ports
  • Full tax documentation at pickup
02

Land Donation & Agricultural Development

Acreage donated within the U.S. is either developed into training farms and community gardens, or sold to fund programs. Abroad, we coordinate land-lease programs that support sustainable cooperative farming for smallholders.

  • Parcels of any size considered
  • Environmental review before acceptance
  • Training-farm designation available for suitable land
  • International co-op leasing in three regions
03

Education & Housing (U.S.)

Proceeds from donated assets fund scholarships for students in agriculture, sustainability, and international development. We also provide temporary housing support for agricultural workers, refugee families, and students in transition — primarily in Georgia and the southeastern U.S.

  • Scholarships for two- and four-year programs
  • Housing partnerships with Georgia trade schools
  • Vocational track for refugee and displaced families
  • Grants to Georgia primary and secondary schools
04

Global Farmer Support

Refurbished tractors, tools, and implements are distributed to community cooperatives in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and South and Southeast Asia. Every shipment is paired with training in soil conservation, irrigation, and crop management — and, where possible, an exchange with U.S. agricultural students.

  • Partner cooperatives vetted by regional coordinators
  • Training curriculum delivered on-site
  • Student and farmer exchange program
  • Three-region deployment: SSA, LATAM, S/SE Asia
§ 03 — How it works

The path from your driveway to a working field.

Describe the asset

Submit vehicle, equipment, or land details through the intake form or by phone. We'll come back within two business days with next steps and expected tax treatment.

We schedule the transfer

For vehicles and equipment, we coordinate towing or hauling — usually at no cost to the donor. For land, we handle title work and environmental review with our legal partners.

Step 03Assess

§ 05 — Founders

A family project, from a Georgia family to yours.

Every donor receives a signed 8″ × 10″

The Potter's Farm was founded by Chad Hansen and his father, Don Hansen, in Loganville, Georgia.

Chad spent his career in healthcare operations, managing the systems that get people the care they need. Don spent twelve seasons in the NFL — most of them at linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons — and the decades after in Georgia, running businesses and paying attention to the work of everyday people.

Between them, they share a conviction: a working life produces surplus that ought to go somewhere useful. A pickup that still runs. A parcel that isn't being farmed. An evening a week that could be given. That's the thesis of The Potter's Farm.

As a personal thank-you, every donor to The Potter's Farm — regardless of gift size — receives an autographed 8″ × 10″ photograph from Don. Not as a gimmick. As a note from one Georgia family to another.
